Start to 2013: Cons/Cosplay/Other updatesWhat up guys. Finally sunk into me that it's 2013: brand new year, full of stuff to do. I have no doubt that it's gonna fly by before I know it so I wanted to update with some stuff that's been going on:
1. Kicked off the year with MelCosPho 13. Not gonna lie, it was probably one of the biggest gatherings of cosplayers in Melbourne since probably the last convention (Armageddon). Was insane as to how many people showed up, and for a social chameleon such as myself it was overwhelming not recognizing over 80% of the people there.
I used the meet to debut my first cosplay of the year: Afro Samurai! (Mugshot can be seen here -----> http://shinyspikes.deviantart.com/#/d5reqe8 ) It was actually supposed to be my first ever cosplay back at Armageddon 2011 and I was going to make it out of my old Taekwondo uniform (thank god I didn't omg). I had a lot of fun making a cosplay from scratch, thank you to :icondarcywilliam: for giving me the sword to modify and helping me weather the headband and
2012 Recap - To everyone I've met.So it's Christmas Eve here (Australia) and I thought I'd use today to write up a recap of this year, cosplay wise and life wise.

Cosplay wise, it's been awesome. 2012's been my first full year of cosplaying and I've enjoyed it so much. I only got through 4 cosplays because of how stressful school was this year but hopefully that number will rise much more next year. I attended a heap of cons and participated in cosplay groups and overall I had an awesome time. My Sazh cosplay was the first time I received so many compliments and posing of photos, thank you to :iconmynameisdat: for suggesting the character to me.
This year was the first time I attended every Melbourne con: The Big Three of Supanova, Manifest and Armageddon as well as the epic failure that was Oz Comic-Con and needless to say I had an epic time. We know how to have fun here in Melbourne and I hope we can bring the fun interstate or even overseas next year (Fingers crossed!)
This year life-wise has be
A Bloody, Stupid Miracle The day we’d cured the human condition was the day I put a bullet through my head and didn’t die. It was also the day I realized how scared I actually was of death, and after hours of muscle ache from holding that gauze against my open skull, after the wound closed and everything went back to normal, I had myself a good old-fashioned brainstorm. How ironic.
But when summer came, everything had fallen to shit. The air scorched my skin and parched my tongue every time I took a breath. The sun glared down on a rapidly-collapsing world, full of the undying bastard children of cruelty and misfortune. What was one to do when their cells regenerated faster than they decomposed?
My feet hit the pavement, now littered with jagged bits of glass to snap at my toes, thoroughly baked by the blazing ball of bitter disdain high overhead. Today was worse than yesterday. Though I’d often wondered the purpose of it anymore, I
